Alien8 Recordings is very excited to announce the release of Coalescence, an international compilation. We never could have predicted how difficult it has been to finally bring this project to fruition. It began some time ago as an idea to do a compilation revolving around the art of American/ Canadian sculptor Marc Prent. It was also a way in which we could work with a number of artists that we have not been able to do full length releases with.

Coalescence boasts selections from artists that have come to be associated with Alien8 Recordings such as Aube, Masonna, Merzbow, Knurl and David Kristian as well as the likes of Artificial Memory Trace, Crawl Unit, Dachise, Entarte, Kazumoto Endo, PBK and Sensorband, etc… Musical styles range from ambient to electro acoustic to field recordings to harsh noise. We feel this compilation captures the essence of the label over the course of the last two years, while giving some indication towards possible future areas of interest.
