Dreamcatcher are a Montreal based duo comprised of Blake Hargreaves and Katherine Kline and together they blend loops with an arsenal of home spun electronics.
The band has quickly become one of the crowned jewels of the Montreal experimental/noise scene. Their sound can be most easily described as a gentle Wolf Eyes or a hip hop project obsessed with Throbbing Gristle.
Recently the band was invited to perform live on the local university radio station CKUT 90.3 as part of their annual funding drive. The performance was fantastic and the recording of the performance turned out great as well. At this point the band had only issued two limited edition cassettes, so we approached them with the idea of releasing the live performance on cdr in a limited edition of 88 copies. The band were given 25 copies which they managed to sell out during a weekend mini tour with Et Sans, Japanther and USA is a Monster. The remainder will be available via alien8 recordings mail order and can be found at various shops in the Montreal area.
This cdr is packaged in our typical cardstock jacket, although slightly thinner than usual. The images are glued on by hand and there is some use of silver spray paint. Overall very diy, but neat.
